Partners in Crime - Environnement Concept Art

For my animatic project I wanted to have some simple backgrounds and decided to experiment with the shape tools on Photoshop (circle and square mostly), as well as the lasso tool that I barely use (if not never...).

I did color the buildings to have a better idea of how I wanted it to look, but in the animatic I decided to put a black and white filter to keep everything coherent since I don't want to color the characters.

This exercice was a lot of fun, I really loved trying to create some depth in the window frames and use patterns on the walls and roof, it definetly forced me to look at background photos and step a little out of my confort zone since I always chose to draw characters :)

Right now I'm not done animating the characters, but I can't wait to show the finished video, hopefully it'll come out good !
